E-bike technicals
- What is the range of your electric bikes on a single charge?
The range varies by model but generally falls between 20 to 60 miles, depending on factors like terrain and assist level.
- How long does it take to charge the battery?
Charging times vary, but it typically takes 4-6 hours for a full charge. Some models offer fast-charging options for quicker turnaround.
- How do I maintain and care for the electric bike's battery?
Please follow the manufacturer's instruction manual. In general, only use the manufacturer's branded charger, avoid over-charging, avoid depleting the battery below 20%, and avoid damage to the battery. Avoid extreme temperatures, and regularly charge the battery to keep it in optimal condition. If leaving for a period of time, ensure the battery is not charged more than 60%, and charge at least every 6 months.
- Are your electric bikes road legal in the UK?
We sell electric bikes which comply with UK e-bike regulations, allowing them to be used on public roads and cycle paths without a license. They must be pedal assisted only, up to a maximum of 250W, and not propel the bike over 15.5mph. We may also sell e-bikes outside of these regulations with higher power or twist and go throttles, but these can only be used away from public roads and cycle paths unless they are Type Approved. Our product descriptions include details of each electric bike. Please see here for the latest UK GOV rules. It is solely the customer’s duty to make sure that you adhere to all UK legal requirements when using your e-bike. PEDAL & RIDE will not be held liable for any consequences resulting from the failure to fulfil these legal requirements.

Some of our e-bikes are shipped partially assembled and come with simple instructions on how to assemble the remaining parts (usually just attaching the pedals, and aligning the handlebars). It's very easy and only requires basic skills.
Others may be shipped fully assembled as specified in the description for those particular e-bikes.
- Can I use my own accessories with your electric bikes?
Yes, most standard bike accessories are compatible. However, check with our team for specific compatibility concerns.
- Are there any weight restrictions for riders?
Our electric bikes typically have weight limits. Check the specifications of the specific model you're interested in for this information.
- How do I choose the right size for an electric bike?
Follow our size guide here to help you choose the correct size
- How water-resistant are e-bikes?
In general, the drive systems and components used are designed to be water-resistant under normal riding conditions, including rain.
However, do not use a steam jet or high-pressure cleaner to clean your e-bike. Due to the high pressure, water could penetrate through seals and damage the drive system and components.

E-Bike Size Guide
Selecting the appropriate size e-bike is crucial for comfort, performance, and ensuring you enjoy your ride to the fullest. Use this guide to find the perfect fit based on your height, inside leg measurement, and preferred riding style.
Factors That Affect Your E-Bike Size:
-
Style of E-Bike: Different styles are built for unique purposes and have varying frame geometries:
- Folding Bikes: Compact frames with long seat posts to optimise portability.
- Mountain Bikes (MTB): Mid-sized frames with longer seat posts for manoeuvrability on rugged terrain.
- Hybrid Bikes: Frame sizing similar to mountain bikes, blending comfort and versatility for commuting and light off-road riding.
- Road Bikes: Larger frames designed for speed and efficiency on paved surfaces.
- Your Height and Inside Leg Measurement: Critical for determining the correct frame size (affecting standover height and leg extension)
- Gender: Some e-bike sizes and styles are designed with gender-specific frames for optimal fit.
- Riding Style: Affects frame geometry preference e.g. aggressive riding might require a larger frame for stability.
General Sizing Tips:
- Review the product specifications of your desired e-bike, as many include height and leg length recommendations.
- Use the tables below as a general guide for selecting your size.
- If in doubt, choose the smaller frame if you're between sizes—it’s easier to adjust seat height and handlebars upward than downward.

Additional Sizing Notes:
- If you know your inside leg measurement, it’s worth checking this alongside height for even greater accuracy.
- Consider the type of riding you plan to do: long-distance riders may prefer slightly larger frames for stability, while off-road riders may prefer a smaller frame for better control.
- For folding bikes, sizing is generally universal but adjustable for a range of heights. Check specific product details for guidance.

Returns & Refunds
Our Policy
Our Returns Policy allows for 30 days to return or exchange an item bought with a valid receipt from the date you receive the item. If it is more than 30 days since your purchase, it won’t be possible to offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, with tags and labels, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Please note, the 30 days return period is to allow you to examine the goods as you would in a shop. To obtain a full refund, the goods must be returned in an “as new” condition. “As new” condition is defined as unused and re-sellable, and in the original packaging.
To complete your refund or exchange, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Returns policies do vary between the brands available through PEDAL & RIDE. Please see the individual product pages for more accurate returns policies for each product.
Your statutory rights are not affected by our Returns Policy. To the extent that any provision in our Returns Policy conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights will prevail and the particular offending provision in our Returns Policy will be deemed inapplicable.
You have a 30 day right to reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the goods are deemed faulty, and a 14 day right to return under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014.
To start a return, you can contact us at returns@pedalandride.co.uk. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
If you are requesting a return due to a change of mind, there will be a charge to cover the delivery costs and a restocking fee.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can review the issue and resolve it for you.
We ask that you thoroughly inspect all items at the point of delivery. We advise you not to accept delivery of any damaged items. If you discover that an item has been damaged, please send clear photos of the damaged items to support@pedalandride.co.uk so that we can open an insurance claim on your behalf.
If your bike develops a fault through normal use (as outlined in the manufacturer's manual) you could be entitled to a repair or replacement as covered by the warranty. Please send through details of the fault to support@pedalandride.co.uk and we will arrange the repair or replacement with the manufacturer. Please note, any fault caused due to misuse of the item is not covered by this policy. Please ensure you read the manufacturer's manual in detail before using your item to avoid voiding your warranty.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of item cannot be returned, like perishable goods, custom products (such as special orders or personalised items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Any delivery and re-stocking fees will be deducted from your refund amount. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
Cancellations
Any orders cancelled after 12 hours of placing the order may be subject to additional fees. If your order has been dispatched, you (the buyer) will be responsible for any costs associated with returning the item. Any refunds can only be issued to the same payment method which was used to place the order.
